Mom and Dick came over for a visit and to sight see so we went to many different places. Some places I took them too we have been and have blogged for example Knaresborough, some places in York, etc.
Here is a slide show of some places that we took them too.
Clifford's Tower-York
York Museum-York
Papa helping Liam walk through an old church that is now an art gallery.
York Minister-York Which is so huge that pictures can't even describe how big it is! It was so pretty and ornate it was unreal...
The landscape is near Darley Mill (which I took them to the old Mill and we looked around, it's not a shop and they serve tea there as well)
The kids are at The World of James Herriot author of All Things Great and Small. We toured his house, barn, clinic (he was a vet) and TV studio were they filmed the shows based on his books. It was a really great stops for the entire family.
St. Mary's Church where James Herriot was married.
Newby Hall and Gardens.
Liam being silly
Then we had lunch here at our house with Diana & Malcolm Parsons. Diana and my late Aunt Marcy were pen pals for over 40 years. They never met the entire time they wrote letters, so it was a real treat to meet her.
Then we went to Bolton Abbey. It was beautiful day and people were everywhere, in the grass, the river, all over.

I have to get you caught up...
Well, September has been extremely busy here! The 8th and 9th we went to the Lake District to visit some friends...Bob & JoAnn Buchanan. Before we met them we spent the day at The World of Beatrix Potter. It was so fun. The kids were beside themselves when they saw Peter! It was so cute. The museum had the characters from all the stories recreated and placed in scenes of the stories. It was amazing. We walked around Windermere for a while and looked at the shops. This is where Beatrix Potter spent many of her summers. She also bought a lot of land and donated it to the National Trust preservation so there's a lot of undeveloped land there.
http://www.hop-skip-jump.com/ you can check out the website for more information about Beatrix Potter. Oh, you should also rent Miss Potter. It's a good movie about Beatrix and I believe they filmed it here.
Then we spent the night in Cockermouth (that's a real town...) got up and went to Keswick and spent the day with Bob & JoAnn, it was a great time.

Today Logan started his first day of Nursery (Pre-K) at the Hampsthwaite Church of England Primary School (what a mouth full). He was so excited to be going to school. We walked him down to the school (after taking Audrey to her school, which she had a great time yesterday and wants to keep going!). Logan didn't even care that we were leaving him with teachers. He started playing right away and found that our neighbors children were in his class, he was very happy to see Bella and Sam.

Audrey's 1st day of Kindergarten 9-2-08
Audrey started her first day of Kindergarten today!! She is in Mrs. New's Kindergarten/1st Grade Class. It's a very small school and they combine the two classes and have the children help each other with the class work. It's a nice classroom and a very nice teacher.
Audrey was very excited to start school today and Logan was very upset that he didn't get to go with her! He starts his school tomorrow!!
Audrey only has a half day today and then tomorrow she will start classes 8:30am to 3:00pm every day of the week and Logan will go Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:30am to 11:15am.
